Joshua Simon


 

Born, 1979, lives and works in Tel Aviv-Jaffa, Israel.

Joshua Simon is a curator and writer. Co-founder and co-editor of Maayan Magazine for Art and Poetry and editor of Maarvon – New Film Magazine. Among his projects in poetry is Red: Poems of the Working Class, an anthology in Hebrew and Arabic he co-edited. His projects have been invested in linking art and the public and political spheres. Recent curatorial projects include Come to Israel, It’s Hot and Wet and We Have The Humus! (Storefront for Art and Architecture, NYC 2008), The Rear - the first Herzliya Biennial of Contemporary Art (2007), Blanks (co-curated with Sergio Edelzstein, Tel Aviv 2005) and Sharon (Tel Aviv 2004). Currently he is working on the exhibition The Aesthetics of Terror which he is co-cuarting at the Chelsea Art Museum, NYC (opening: Nov. 2008).
