Barbara Clausen is a curator and art historian working in Vienna, Austria. From 2004 to 2006 she was a PhD Fellow of the International Center for Cultural Studies in Vienna (IFK) and Visiting Scholar at New York University in New York. From 1997 until 2000 she was Curatorial Associate at Dia Art Foundation in New York, 2001 she participated in the De Appel Curatorial Program in Amsterdam, and 2002 she organized the film program, artist archive and media coordination for Documenta11. Since 1997 she has written for various art publications and has curated internationally exhibitions and screenings i. e.: Lawrence Weiner (Transmission, Glasgow, 2000), Matthew Buckingham (Schnittraum Cologne, 2001), Joan Jonas (Renaissance Society Chicago, 2004). She co/curated the exhibition Cargo I in Amsterdam (2001), Thin Skin (ICI, international traveling exhibition 2002-2004) and One in a Million (ACF, 2004) in New York. 2005 and 2006 she curated the performance and lecture series After the Act: the (Re)Presentation of Performance Art and wieder und wider: performance appropriated at the Museum of Modern Art Stiftung Ludwig, Vienna. Recently she has edited the publication After the Act: The (Re)Presentation of Performance Art as Part 03 of the MUMOK Vienna theoretical series
