Based in Brussels, Belgium Elena Filipovic is a writer and independent curator. Amongst her curatorial projects are the 5th Berlin Biennial, When things cast no shadow (2008), which she co-curated with Adam Szymczyk, Let Everything Be Temporary, or When is the Exhibition? for Apex Art in New York (2007) and Anachronism at Argos, Center for Art and Media in Brussels (2007). She also curated the first major solo exhibition of Marcel Duchamp’s work in Latin America, at the Museu de Arte Moderna in São Paolo and the Fundacion Proa in Buenos Aires (2008-2009) and was guest curator of the Satellite Program of the Jeu de Paume in Paris (2009-2010). She has worked as a tutor of theory/exhibition history at De Appel postgraduate curatorial training program and advisor at the Rijksakademie in Amsterdam. She co-edited The Manifesta Decade: Debates on Contemporary Art Exhibitions and Biennials in Post-Wall Europe (2006). |
